Adobe releases full-fledged Photoshop for iPhone with AI features

Adobe has taken a historic step in the development of digital technology by releasing the first full-fledged mobile Photoshop application for iPhone. This launch marks a new era for the legendary software product that has been used by more than 90% of professional designers worldwide for 38 years.

The application, available worldwide from today, offers users an unprecedented set of editing tools, including advanced artificial intelligence capabilities based on Firefly technology. The Android version is expected to be released later this year.

“We are excited to provide Photoshop capabilities on mobile devices, making our design tools more accessible and intuitive,” comments Ashley Still, Senior Vice President for Digital Media at Adobe. “This application allows creators to produce visually impressive content anywhere.”

Adobe has introduced a flexible monetization model: the basic version of the application is available for free and includes a complete set of tools for local editing. The premium version, offering cross-platform synchronization, is available for $7.99 per month or $69.99 per year. Existing Photoshop and Adobe Creative Cloud subscribers get access to the mobile version at no additional cost.

Key features of the new application include:
– Core Photoshop tools: work with layers, masks, and blending modes optimized for mobile devices
– Generative AI tools: Firefly technologies for Generative Fill and Generative Expand, allowing quick addition and editing of image elements
– Tap Select tool: intuitive selection of areas by touch for removing, recoloring, or replacing parts of an image
– Spot healing brush: quick removal of unwanted elements from photos

This launch represents a significant step forward compared to the simplified version of Photoshop Elements released in late 2022 and demonstrates Adobe’s commitment to adapting its professional tools for the mobile era while maintaining high standards of quality and functionality.
