Durov and Musk agreed to integrate Grok into Telegram for $300 million

Pavel Durov and Elon Musk concluded an agreement on implementing the Grok chatbot from xAI into the Telegram messenger ecosystem. I’m really surprised!!! This could potentially transform the experience of more than 1 billion messenger users worldwide. According to Durov’s statement, the collaboration is for 1 year and Grok will be integrated into all Telegram applications. But Musk responded on Twitter to Pavel Durov’s public statement and wrote that they haven’t signed the Grok integration into Telegram yet. To which Durov replied there as well, I quote – “agreed in principle, formalities remain”. Cool to observe this live.

So, Telegram will receive $300 million in cash and equity capital from xAI, as well as 50% of revenue from xAI subscriptions processed through the messenger. And if everything is clear about cash money, then the percentage from subscriptions and shares of Elon Musk’s company shows that Elon Musk and Pavel Durov are set on long-term partnership. I’m in pleasant shock! 2 remarkable people agreed to work together, this is very cool.

And the technological features of integration go far beyond a standard “question-answer” format chatbot. Grok in Telegram will offer multifunctional tools. News fact-checking, dialogue summarization, response hint generation, channel post fact-checking, creating personalized stickers based on user avatars and even conversation moderation.

The unique advantage of Grok that will be implemented in the Telegram ecosystem is access to information through Twitter social network in real time. Which potentially provides more current and relevant answers compared to competing artificial intelligence solutions.

In my opinion, the partnership between Durov’s Telegram and Musk’s xAI represents a significant convergence of 2 technological ecosystems. Provided that everything announced will be coolly implemented.
