China to host world’s first robot marathon
Beijing is preparing to make history in world robotics: on April 13, 2025, the Chinese capital will host the world’s first half marathon featuring anthropomorphic robots. This unprecedented event will gather dozens of humanoid machines that will have to cover a distance of 21 kilometers.
The competition will be not just a sporting event, but a real demonstration of the latest achievements in robotics and artificial intelligence. Participants will not only need to run a significant distance but also overcome various obstacles, demonstrating abilities to maintain balance and adapt to changing track conditions.
The organizers emphasize that the event will attract leading developers and engineers from around the world who will present their latest developments in anthropomorphic robotics. This is a unique opportunity to see in action technologies that are already actively used in various fields – from education to space exploration.
“This marathon is not just a competition, but a demonstration of how far modern robotics has advanced,” the organizers note. Spectators will be able to observe how robots deal with various track challenges, including falls and movement recovery, which will make the event particularly spectacular.
