From text to viral videos: new creative tools for X
A proprietary tool for creating video clips from text descriptions will soon be integrated into the X platform. According to information from Elon Musk, the new feature will be called “Imagine”. And will be based on technologies from startup Hotshot, which xAI company acquired in March this year.
The technical implementation involves integrating Hotshot capabilities with the Grok chatbot. To provide X users with a full-fledged text-based video generation tool. This step will allow the platform to directly compete with Google’s Veo technology, which has already spawned many viral trends online.
Before acquisition by xAI, Hotshot company was known in the AI enthusiast community for its developments in text-to-video and animated GIF conversion. Their technologies developed rapidly and gained recognition among specialists.
Providing X users the ability to quickly create creative viral videos appears to be a logical step in platform development. Expanding creative tools should lead to the emergence of new interesting concepts. Although it probably won’t be without a certain level of abuse of such capabilities.
