Gemini shows “jealousy” towards another AI

Google’s artificial intelligence Gemini displayed strange inaccuracy in Oscar nomination predictions. It claimed one day before the official announcement that nominees were already named. The chatbot avoided predictions in the “Best Actor” category, only noting that “the category is still evolving.”

This looks particularly curious given that Gemini confidently names nominees for other categories. Ten for “Best Picture” and five each for “Best Director” and “Best Actress.” Perhaps the reluctance to predict the “Best Actor” category is related to competition.

With favorite Adrien Brody using another artificial intelligence technology, Respeecher, for Hungarian accent in “The Brutalist.”

Gold Derby, predicting the Oscars since two thousand and one, notes that their final predictions match Gemini’s choices in “Best Picture,” “Best Director,” and “Best Actress” categories.

For “Best Actor” category, the artificial intelligence only mentioned “The Brutalist,” “Conclave,” and “Real Pain.” Hinting at Adrien Brody, Ralph Fiennes, and Jesse Eisenberg respectively.

It seems even Google’s artificial intelligence doesn’t want to predict success for an actor who used another artificial intelligence. Apparently, AI models have their own grudges too.

AI chatbots generate content that exacerbates eating disorders
A joint study by Stanford University and the Center for Democracy and Technology showed a disturbing picture. Chatbots with artificial intelligence pose a serious risk to people with eating disorders. Scientists warn that neural networks hand out harmful advice about diets. They suggest ways to hide the disorder and generate "inspiring weight loss content" that worsens the problem.
OpenAGI released the Lux model that overtakes Google and OpenAI
Startup OpenAGI released the Lux model for computer control and claims this is a breakthrough. According to benchmarks, the model overtakes analogues from Google, OpenAI and Anthropic by a whole generation. Moreover, it works faster. About 1 second per step instead of 3 seconds for competitors. And 10 times cheaper in cost per processing 1 token.
