Paradise for introverts: AI will talk to company employees
Google released a new feature and now artificial intelligence can call local companies on your behalf. To find out information about prices and service availability. You no longer need to pick up the phone yourself and talk to employees. This is exactly what an introvert’s paradise looks like.
To use the feature, it’s enough to enter a search query, for example, “pet grooming near me”. And you’ll see a new option “Have AI find out prices”. The system will ask you several questions: what pet you have, what services you need and when.
A Google representative emphasized that each call begins with an announcement that this is an automatic system calling on behalf of the user. This is important since the company previously faced criticism for a similar feature imitating human speech.
For now, only some users in the US will get these features. Then they’ll open these features for the entire country, and then open them for the whole world. It’s expected that by the end of August anyone will be able to try this feature personally.
