Former Meta director accused company of secret assistance to China with AI

Former Meta director for global public policy Sarah Wynn-Williams is preparing to give sensational testimony before the US Senate. She claims that Mark Zuckerberg’s company secretly helped China develop artificial intelligence technologies while misleading legislators and the public.

Meta company representative Andy Stone categorically denies these accusations, calling them “detached from reality and filled with false statements”.

According to Wynn-Williams, Meta began conducting briefings for the Chinese Communist Party on the latest technologies, including artificial intelligence, back in 2015. The goal of these actions was supposedly, I quote “to help China surpass American companies” and, I quote “increase China’s global influence”.

She also stated that there is a direct connection between these briefings and recent reports about China developing artificial intelligence models for military use based on Meta’s LLaMA model.
