Mattel and OpenAI will create AI Barbie toys with ChatGPT Enterprise

A fantastic merger of toy and artificial intelligence worlds! Legendary Barbie manufacturer Mattel and OpenAI announced a partnership. Which will add generative artificial intelligence to toy creation and entertainment content.

For the first time in history, OpenAI signs an agreement with a toy manufacturer, expanding its sphere of influence beyond news publishers and corporate clients. After the success of the “Barbie” movie in 2023, Mattel is actively developing films based on other toys – Hot Wheels, Polly Pocket, Barney, UNO and Masters of the Universe. The company is also entering the digital games market with plans to release 1 self-published game next year.

1 joint product with artificial intelligence from OpenAI will appear this year. It’s promised that the innovation will enhance fan engagement in a “safe, thoughtful and responsible way”. Josh Silverman, Mattel’s franchise director, emphasized that the company retains full control over created products, which will be presented as both physical goods and digital solutions.

And Mattel employees will get access to OpenAI tools, including ChatGPT Enterprise, to improve product development and generate creative ideas. They say this collaboration could turn traditional toys into next-generation interactive systems. Radically changing the ways children interact with their favorite characters. Well, let’s see the result. The main thing is that it doesn’t record audio and video of everything happening at home.
