Revolution in content: Google automates video creation from idea to editing

Google is preparing a revolution with its experimental project called Illuminate. Some users have already gained access to this tool. It works simply. A person enters a topic or question of interest, for example, “Explain quantum physics” or “History of Ancient Egypt.” After this, the system automatically generates a short video with a virtual host who talks in detail about the chosen topic. Just no words!

The coolest thing is that artificial intelligence is not limited to simply voicing text against a static image background. Instead, it creates realistic video where the virtual host accompanies their narrative with visual illustrations and demonstration of the described processes.

Examples of vertical videos lasting from 1 to 3 minutes on various topics have already appeared on Twitter. These videos are made in the format of accessible explanations, where virtual hosts tell about complex concepts in simple language. For now, the tool is only available for internal Google accounts and is unavailable to regular users.

It is assumed that the technology is based on the Veo 3 model or a multimodal version of Gemini Ultra. The potential impact of this development is hard to overestimate. Teachers will be able to quickly create educational videos, marketers will make promotional videos, and ordinary people will be able to generate personalized greetings or instructions without needing filming and editing skills.

In my opinion, this Sparks technology represents a fundamentally new level of generative artificial intelligence. Combining speech synthesis, visual content creation, and knowledge generation into a single system, which essentially automates the entire video content creation process from idea to finished product.
