Sam Altman revealed Meta’s attempts to poach employees for $100 million

Sam Altman publicly revealed the unprecedented talent hunt that Mark Zuckerberg is conducting. The Meta head offers OpenAI employees truly astronomical sums. $100 million just as a signing bonus!

However, despite the dizzying figures, not one of OpenAI engineers and scientists has taken the golden bait yet. The reason, according to Altman, lies in his team’s deeper values. Sam Altman said, I quote, “Our people value legacy more than instant financial status.”

Interestingly, these candid statements were made in a podcast hosted by Sam’s own brother Jack Altman. So a family conversation turned into a public statement.

The OpenAI head didn’t hold back in expressions when characterizing the competitor. He openly stated that Meta suffers from weak corporate culture and experiences serious problems with innovation. “We know many things about success that they don’t even suspect there,” he noted.

In Altman’s opinion, it’s precisely OpenAI that has significantly better chances to achieve true super-intelligence and ultimately become the more valuable company.
