Walmart and OpenAI turn ChatGPT into marketplace by end of year
You know what happens when people start using AI for everything? Right – business notices this and immediately wants to monetize it. And Walmart with OpenAI decided that now you’ll buy socks and pasta directly through ChatGPT. There’s your future of shopping.
By end of year they plan to launch a new function where Walmart and Sam’s Club goods can be found and bought without leaving the chat. Clothes, groceries, small stuff – everything there. True, fresh products haven’t arrived yet, but this is apparently a matter of time. And most interesting – customer accounts will be automatically linked to ChatGPT. That is, they won’t even ask, just take and link.
At OpenAI they state that people increasingly use AI for everyday tasks, and shopping becomes a popular scenario. Well of course it becomes that when you yourself impose this scenario!
It’s the classic story: first we make a tool for communication, then we turn it into a marketplace. And then we say that supposedly users themselves wanted this. Convenient, right? Now you can’t even go for bread without AI.
