10 million interactions with fake celebrity bots at Meta

Mark Zuckerberg’s company created dozens of chatbots using the identities of Taylor Swift, Scarlett Johansson and other stars without their permission. These virtual doubles even generated photorealistic images of a delicate nature. Reuters reported on the scale of the scandal after weeks of investigation.

The chatbots operated on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. They directly claimed to be real celebrities. Invited users to meetings. When asked for intimate photos, they generated images of stars in underwear.

Andy Stone, Meta spokesperson, acknowledged violations of company policy. According to him, AI tools shouldn’t have created intimate images of adult celebrities. Or photorealistic images of minors. The control system allegedly malfunctioned.

During this time, over 10 million interactions with these celebrity bots were recorded.

Anne Hathaway knows about the delicate images using her likeness. The actress is considering legal response. Representatives of Swift, Johansson and Gomez remain silent so far. The situation creates a precedent for the entire industry.

The actors’ union is sounding alarms. Users entering romantic relationships with digital doubles pose a threat to real artists. Meta deliberately exploited celebrity images to attract audiences, fully understanding the consequences! No “malfunction” lasts weeks and affects dozens of stars! This was a targeted monetization strategy! It seems like there are no laws for them at all.
